Day 7 Yala /South Coast Drive from Yala to the South Coast (approx. 2-3 hours drive). Check into your chosen beach destination: Mirissa, Weligama, or Tangalle. Afternoon: Beach relaxation, swimming, or enjoying the sunset.
Day 8 South Coast Morning: Early start for Whale Watching Tour from Mirissa Harbour

Day 04- Sigirya – Jaffna – Original Fortress & Churches Long Drive: Travel from Sigiriya/Dambulla North to Jaffna (approx. 7-8 hours). Check into your hotel. Evening: Explore the local city, which still retains Portuguese architectural and cultural traces.
Day 05- Jaffna – Mannar – Forts and Ruins Morning: Visit Jaffna Fort, originally built by the Portuguese in 1618 (though later expanded by the Dutch, the original footprint remains). Visit the Ruins of the Portuguese Church at Chankanai or Myliddy. Afternoon: Drive to Mannar Island (approx. 2-3 hours). Evening: Check in near Mannar.
Day 06- Mannar- Kalpitiya – Island Forts & Baobab Morning: Explore Mannar Fort, one of the best examples of a Portuguese fort later modified by the Dutch. Visit the Baobab Trees, believed to have been brought by Arab or Portuguese traders. Afternoon: Drive South towards the West Coast (Puttalam/Kalpitiya area) for a rest stop.
Day 07- Kalpitiya- Galle – The Original Santa Cruz Fortress Long Drive: Drive down the West Coast to Galle (approx. 5-6 hours). Afternoon: Explore Galle Fort (UNESCO Site), originally begun by the Portuguese in 1588 as Santa Cruz. Look for the oldest ramparts and the site of the original Franciscan Chapel.
Day 08- Galle- Mirissa – Coastal Fortification & Beach Morning: Enjoy the Galle Fort ramparts and architecture. Drive to Mirissa/Weligama. Afternoon: Relax on the beach or take a short trip to see the Tangalle Fort, another Portuguese/Dutch-era fort.
Day 09- Mirissa – Colombo – Whale Watching & Capital’s Origins Morning: Whale Watching (seasonal, Dec-Apr). Afternoon: Drive to Colombo (approx. 3-4 hours). Evening: Explore the area around Colombo Fort (the modern business district). This area was the original site of the fortified Portuguese capital, destroyed by the Dutch in 1656. While the fort walls are gone, the layout and the district’s name remain a legacy.
Day 10- Colombo- BIA – Morning: Colombo City Tour focusing on the old colonial areas: Pettah (the port area which grew outside the fort walls) and the Fort area itself. Visit the Old Dutch Hospital (built on the Portuguese layout). Transfer to CMB Airport for departure.
